Clothes, Books, Housewares and More
Thanks to our community partner Recycle That, the ReStores can now accept donations of the following materials:
We DO NOT Accept items that are broken, contaminated, not working, or have missing pieces.
Recycle That, LLC, is a for-profit company that provides non-profit organizations with no cost fundraising programs that promote the recycling of clothing, accessories, books, and household goods. Utilizing the ReStore's donation center, donation boxes, and special community events, the ReStore sells the donations to Recycle That to raise money for Habitat's work in the community and to continue the ReStore's mission of keeping usable items out of landfills.
Donation bins can be found at both ReStore locations, the Milwaukee Habitat main office, and numerous locations throughout the city. Please see the Recycle That Donation Map for a complete list.
The ReStore now will recycle old HID lighting for free! Are you remodeling an old warehouse, school, or industrial building? Instead of incurring dumping fees or renting a dumpster to toss out those old HID lights, let the ReStore recycle them and turn it into revenue for Habitat for Humanity. Not only will you be preventing usable materials from ending up in landfills, but you can receive a tax receipt for your donation. It's a win-win! Simply call us at 414-257-9078 and we will arrange for a truck to come and pick up your HID lights at your location. It's that easy!
Donation Process
The ReStore accepts donations prior to one hour before close Tuesday-Saturday.
Thank you for considering donating to the Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity ReStores. Your donations keep recyclable items out of landfills, put reusable and "up-cyclable" items into the hands of other homeowners, and help hardworking families in Milwaukee achieve affordable housing!
Here's the easy three-step process to making a donation today.
Step 1 : If you have new or gently used reusable materials to donate call the ReStore to make sure we will accept your donation at 414-257-9078
Step 2 : During your call we will determine if we are able to accept your donation and schedule a drop off or pick-up time with you. Donations are accepted up to one hour before store close.
Step 3 : If the ReStore is picking up your donated items, please have the items ready for safe and efficient pick up.
