2010 Homeowner Homecoming Potluck & Picnic
A Habitat family affair to remember…

On Sunday August 15^th Habitat Families and friends gathered together at Johnson’s Park to celebrate community at the 2^nd Annual Homeowner Homecoming Potluck & Picnic.  Over 150 participants enjoyed potluck dish selections from homemade goodies to fresh fruit and meat on the grill.  We were lucky to have a perfect summer day with plenty of wind to keep the kites flying high in the air and the bugs away!  The younger attendees had a great time with hula hoops, lawn games, a visit from McGruff the Crime Dog, The Milwaukee Fire Department, Bell Ambulance, and Boehner’s Botanical Gardens.  A special thank you also to Big Brothers Big Sisters, DJ Phatz, and OUR HOMEOWNERS for helping make the day such a success! 

This event is is organized by future Habitat homeowners to celebrate the nearly 500 families Milwaukee Habitat has served over the last 26 years.  

Garden Walk
Saturday August 28^th, 2010 

At the Plant Share homeowners are encouraged to sign up for the late summer Garden Walk where District Garden Club members, Habitat Staff and Homeowners walk through participating neighborhoods to admire and constructively critique the gardens of their friends and neighbors.

Gardening Mentor Program 
New this year in 2010, we hope to engage past participants and new comers in horticulture and gardening one-on-one mentoring program.
