•1984 - Milwaukee Habitat was incorporated to become the 39th affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International in the United States of America.
•1989 - Milwaukee Habitat was honored to become the host site for the Jimmy Carter Works Project which helped us to build and renovate fourteen homes.
•1992 - Sargento Foods Inc. became Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity’s first corporate house sponsor with Northwestern Mutual Foundation to follow the following year.
•1994 - Milwaukee Habitat moved into its first permanent home, a 65,000 sq. ft. warehouse, at 30th and North Ave.
•1996 - We built our 100th home at 1746 N 24th St. just twelve short years after our incorporation.
•2006 -Thrivent Builds partnered with Milwaukee Habitat by providing corporate sponsorship for ten new homes for Milwaukee families in need. In October Milwaukee Habitat opened its Re-Store, a second hand home improvement center in West Allis. Home Builders Blitz built ten from start to finish in seven days, with the help of professional builders, contractors and volunteers
•2008 - Milwaukee Habitat moved once again into a new “simple, decent, and affordable” location at 3726 N. Booth St. in Milwaukee’s Riverwest neighborhood. We also began our “A Brush With Kindness” home repair program, which has helped to complete over 50 projects since its inception.
•2009 - With the completion of a home at 2528 N. 20th St. Milwaukee Habitat marked its 400th home and 25th anniversary.
•2010 - Milwaukee Habitat recieves Neighborhood Stabilization 2 funds to begin construction on 100 homes over a three year period.
•2011 - In this landmark year, Milwaukee Habitat completes construction of 40 new homes, repairs for 30 existing homes through ABWK and hosts over 16,000 volunteers.
