Feel comfortable leading a group? Want to get more involved with Habitat? Have construction skills you would like to teach others? Please consider becoming a crew leader!
Crew leaders are some of the most important volunteers we have here at Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity. Crew leaders teach groups of volunteers basic construction skills during our regular work week (Tuesdays through Thursdays and Saturday from 9am-3pm) and/or during our build weeks. Crew leaders help Milwaukee Habitat achieve our mission of building homes with volunteer labor and take on significant leadership roles within the organization. Crew leaders train unskilled volunteers, and lead crews in tasks such as dry wall, insulation, painting, siding, rough framing and installing flooring.
Potential Crew leaders meet with our construction department to go over expectations and develop a training schedule (if needed). Crew leaders do not need to be construction professionals, but open-minded and caring individuals who want to learn and teach others.
