Youth United

Youth United is a new program for Milwaukee Habitat that involves young people ages 5-25 in all aspects of Habitat’s mission by planning and participating in education, advocacy, fundraising and volunteering. The Youth United program brings young people together from all backgrounds to play an active role in transforming their communities. This is a great program to involve schools, youth groups, after school programs and youth agencies interested in partnering with Habitat for Humanity.

The goal of Youth United is to fund an entire home at $60,000 as well as have youth participate in building the home. This is a great opportunity for young people to develop as leaders and learn basic construction skills. Understanding the problems of housing and poverty within Milwaukee helps to develop and empower the next generation of community spirit.

Why you should participate in Youth United

  1. Make the dream of owning a home come true for a Milwaukee family in need.
  2. Earn required community service hours for school while building a house from start to finish.
  3. Develop leadership and construction skills that look great on college and job applications.
  4. Work with a diverse group and make new friends.
  5. Make a difference in your community.

Youth United is starting again this fall. More information coming soon!

State Farm Insurance, Marquette University Habitat Chapter and University of Wisconsin Milwaukee are proud sponsor of Youth United
