What is AmeriCorps? AmeriCorps is a national service movement that unites Americans in improving our neighborhoods. AmeriCorps is not a job, but a service opportunity in which Americans dedicate a year or more of their lives in order to help meet the critical needs of others.
What do
What is a member's commitment? AmeriCorps members start their service in late August or early September and serve full-time for about 11 months, ending in July. Each member must serve at least 1,700 hours and must also complete other program requirements, including national and local training and orientation.
Member Benefits
How can I become a member? We accept applications and select members on a rolling basis from approximately mid June through July. If you are interested in our Habitat AmeriCorps program here in Milwaukee, please contact Katie Kowalski at 414-562-6100 x 14 or kkowalski@milwaukeehabitat.org.
