About MHFH

Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity transforms lives and our city by providing simple, decent and affordable housing for Milwaukee families in need. We build and renovate homes for families and individuals in need of sustainable housing.

Founded in 1984 as an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, Milwaukee Habitat builds homes primarily in the Amani, Harambee and Washington Park neighborhoods of Milwaukee. To date Milwaukee Habitat has built over 500 homes for Milwaukee families. Milwaukee Habitat also renovates existing homes through the A Brush with Kindness program

We build our homes with the “sweat equity” of our homeowners who work in conjunction with volunteers to complete their projects.  Every year thousands of volunteers from faith institutions, schools, corporations and civic groups help us to build homes from the ground up, participating in every aspect of home construction. We strive to unite the residents of the greater Milwaukee area around the cause of affordable housing.  Milwaukee Habitat is a leading advocate for affordable housing, and is the largest non-profit home builder in Southeastern Wisconsin.  It is our goal to ensure that every resident of Milwaukee has access to decent and affordable housing and to make affordable housing a priority for the community.
